Day 1: Riding to Soraypampa
After our breakfast, we will take the road to the Salkantay Lodge and Adventure Resort in Soraypampa.
On the way, we will visit the Inca ruins of Tarawasi, near the town of Limatambo, as well as the moutain village of Mollepata. After a short break, we will take a winding road to the Coronilla Ranch, where we will start our 4-hour ride to Soraypampa.
Arriving at our lodge, the friendly staff of the Salkantay Lodge will welcome us and take us to our rooms. The afternoon will be free to adjust to the altitude. We will have the possibility either to relax in the outdoor jacuzzi or to have a pleasant walk in the amazing surroundings.
In the evening, we will have a short briefing around the fireplace before enjoying our dinner.

Day 2: Humantay Lake
After a breakfast in our lodge, we will leave for a 3-hour ride in the surroundings of Soraypampa. After a short break, we will have a thirty-minute walk to reach the Humantay Lake and appreciate the incredible view. If we feel brave enough, we might even go for a swim in the lake.
We will return to the lodge to have our lunch. Then, we will have two options: another 3-hour ride to continue our discovery of the surroundings or a relaxing soak in the outdoor jacuzzi.
In the evening, we will enjoy a gourmet dinner and retire in our comfortable rooms.

Day 3: Riding up to the Condors
Early in the morning, we will leave the lodge to continue our ride towards Machu Picchu. We will go through the Rio Blanco Valley and reach the highest part of our journey, a 4,500-meter pass where we might have the great opportunity to observe Condors flying up in the sky. We will also appreciate a breathtaking view on the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcabamba Range.
Then, we will continue our descent to the Wayra Lodge, where we will have our dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Through the Andes
After our brekfast in the lodge, we will leave to continue our horse-riding journey through the Andes. We will go down into the cloud forest while enjoying the changing scenery.
At lunch time, we will arrive at the Collpa Lodge, where we will be greeted with a ‘Pachamanca’, a Peruvian traditional meal famous for its cooking method. A combination of meat and vegetables is layed on hot stones and covered until it is baked.
Then, we will spend the afternoon relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi or walking in the surrounding area to appreciate the panoramic view. The Collpa Lodge is indeed located on an open promomtory at the confluence of three rivers.
Finally, we will have dinner and spend the night in our lodge.

Day 5: Along the river valley
In the morning, we will head down the Santa Teresa river valley. We will go through coffee plantations and banana orchards. On the way, we will stop for a picnic lunch.
Then, we will continue our ride to the Llactapata Inca Trail, where we will say goodbye to our horses. After a thirty-minute walk through an avocado orchard, we will arrive to the Lucma Lodge. We will visit the small village of Lucmabamba and meet the local community.
We will finish the day in our lodge.

Day 6: Arriving in Aguas Calientes
For this last day to our final destination, we will have two possibilities. Either we can take the train to reach Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu town, or we can hike this distance instead.
If we chose the optional hike, we will leave the lodge in the morning an head uphill for two hours to reach the Llactapata pass at 2,600 meters. Afterwards, we will start descending and stop for a picnic lunch while enjoying an unknown view on Machu Picchu.
Arriving in our hotel in Aguas Calientes, we will have dinner and go for a well-earned rest.

Day 7: Machu Picchu
In the very early morning, we will take a bus that will carry us on a winding road to the Inca fortress of Machu Picchu, so that we might admire the sunrise on one of the wonders of the Ancient World. This amazing lost ‘city of the Incas’ will offer us all its treasures of stone works and ornaments as well as its breathtaking wild landscapes. A professional guide will present us the secrets of the citadel and tell us about the Circular Tozer, the Intihuantana and the Three windows Temple. Afterwards, we will enjoy some free hours to explore the ruins by ourselves.
Then, we will return to Aguas Calientes to have our lunch and take the afternoon train to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will be transferred to our hotel in Cusco.
